The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly is all set to elect 11 new senators today (Monday) after the recent oath-taking of 25 opposition MPAs on reserved seats. The session, scheduled for 9 AM in Peshawar, marks a key moment in the province’s political process as both the government and opposition prepare to cast their votes.
After days of political tension and delays, Governor Faisal Karim Kundi administered the oath to the newly elected opposition MPAs on Sunday. A total of 145 lawmakers are now eligible to vote in today’s Senate elections. According to the agreed distribution, six out of the 11 seats are expected to go to the ruling PTI-led government, while the opposition is likely to claim five.
