Imran Khan getting VIP jail treatment, says Azma Bukhari

Published on: July 24, 2025 3:04 PM

Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari has rejected Imran Khan’s recent complaints about poor prison conditions, calling them completely false and misleading. She insisted that Khan is enjoying more privileges than other B-Class prisoners and accused him of creating unnecessary drama.

Speaking to the media, Bukhari said that Imran Khan’s claims of being denied clean water and basic amenities have no truth. She stated that the B-Class facilities provided to him are actually better than those given to other inmates in similar conditions.

Mocking Khan’s past statements, she questioned how someone who used to sleep until noon on Eid could now complain about issues like water for ablution. Bukhari also reminded the public how Khan once proudly removed others’ air conditioners, yet now complains about his own jail environment.

In a strong criticism of PTI, Bukhari said that the party currently has no leadership and is unable to start any protest movement. She claimed the May 9 verdicts were issued under the law and constitution, and those found guilty must face the consequences of their actions.

She further accused Imran Khan of misleading Pakistan’s youth for personal political gain while his own children live comfortably abroad. Bukhari emphasized that today’s youth are more aware and will not be fooled by false narratives.

Ending her statement, she said spreading false stories about jail conditions won’t win public sympathy. Instead, she urged the former prime minister to face the truth and accept the legal process with responsibility.
