Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur said Pakistan faces terrorists who once defeated global superpowers. He was addressing the Police Martyrs’ Day ceremony in Peshawar on Monday. He praised the sacrifices made by KP Police and Pakistan Army in the fight against terrorism. “These are not ordinary terrorists,” he said, “they have defeated superpowers before.”
Gandapur paid tribute to fallen police officers and offered support to their families. He announced Rs 50,000 financial aid per family and promised more benefits. He said the martyr package has been increased and expressed his wish to give plots to every martyr’s family. “Our police sacrificed everything for peace,” he added. “We are proud of them.”
He said the police budget was raised from Rs 124 billion to Rs 158 billion. He also equalized KP Police salaries with Punjab Police. “We have addressed complaints about low pay,” he stated. Gandapur said the government increased the martyr quota in police jobs to 12 percent. He reaffirmed support for police personnel.
The chief minister announced a new policy where police funds for martyrs and the injured will remain within the department. “There is no need to go to finance now,” he said. “Police will manage these funds directly.” He also said that police installations would be upgraded with new technology to face modern threats.
Gandapur concluded by saying the police are being equipped with advanced weapons. “Our police and army stand united against terrorism,” he said. He emphasized that no other country has seen sacrifices like Pakistan’s. The province remains firm in strengthening its security forces and honoring its heroes.
