PFF’s financial troubles likely to end with new bank account

Published on: August 30, 2025 4:47 PM

The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) has opened a new official bank account, signaling an end to its financial struggles. Under the leadership of PFF President Mohsin Gilani, the federation successfully opened the account at a private bank in Lahore. This development brings hope that PFF’s financial issues will soon be resolved.

The new account was opened based on FIFA’s certification, which allows the PFF to receive funding directly from the global football body. The federation has already updated FIFA about the new account, ensuring that financial support can now flow smoothly.

Previously, legal complications had caused the closure of PFF’s old account, blocking the transfer of funds. As a result, the federation had faced significant financial hurdles, impacting its operations. With the new account in place, the PFF is expected to receive pending FIFA funding shortly.

This step marks a crucial turning point for PFF, which has struggled with financial management in recent years. The opening of the new account is expected to bring stability and support the growth of football in Pakistan.

The PFF leadership remains optimistic about overcoming the federation’s financial challenges, ensuring that football development programs can continue uninterrupted.
