Published on: September 6, 2025 7:06 PM

ANKARA: Turkey’s National Defense Minister Yasar Guler reaffirmed his country’s support for Pakistan. He declared that Turkey will stand shoulder to shoulder with Pakistan in every difficult time. His remarks came during a Defense Day ceremony at the Pakistani Embassy in Ankara.

The ceremony marked Pakistan’s Defense Day and honored the sacrifices of the armed forces. Turkish officials, diplomats, and community members attended the event. Minister Guler stressed the importance of solidarity between the two brotherly nations. He said Turkey remains committed to strengthening its defense ties with Pakistan.

He further announced that both countries would expand joint defense projects. Training programs and counterterrorism initiatives will also be advanced. According to him, cooperation in these areas is essential for regional peace and stability.

Pakistan’s Ambassador to Turkey, Dr. Yousaf Junaid, also addressed the ceremony. He described the 1965 war as a historic moment of courage and unity. He emphasized that Defense Day symbolizes Pakistan’s unmatched sacrifices and national resilience.

The event ended with renewed pledges of partnership and friendship. Both sides underlined their shared vision of security and cooperation. The message from Ankara was clear: Turkey and Pakistan will continue to walk side by side, both in peace and in hardship.
