Punjab university students vow unwavering support to Pakistan army

Published on: September 26, 2025 4:16 PM

Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, Director-General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), visited Punjab University in Lahore, where he was warmly welcomed by students, faculty members, and the university administration. His arrival drew enthusiastic applause, reflecting the strong admiration that the youth hold for the armed forces. During this interaction, the DG ISPR engaged directly with students, answering their questions, offering guidance, and sharing experiences about the nation’s security challenges.

In an open session, students pledged their full and unconditional support to the Pakistan Army, vowing to stand shoulder to shoulder with the forces in protecting the sovereignty of the motherland. The young participants highlighted that the army’s sacrifices and resilience had strengthened their belief in its role as the ultimate guardian of national security. They expressed pride in the armed forces’ recent achievements, particularly against India during recent confrontations, which they viewed as a symbol of unmatched strength and determination.

The DG ISPR also held a meeting with Punjab University’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Muhammad Ali, along with other senior faculty members. In these discussions, the faculty emphasized that the Pakistan Army had not only defended territorial boundaries but also played a crucial role in safeguarding the nation’s unity. They appreciated the leadership’s efforts to engage directly with educational institutions, describing such sessions as vital bridges between the military and the youth.

Throughout the visit, participants repeatedly stressed the importance of countering negative propaganda and misinformation, which they said often aimed to create doubts about the army’s mission and sacrifices. Students pointed out that such interactions allowed them to clarify misconceptions, gain authentic information, and build confidence in the credibility of the armed forces. They added that exposure to the army’s narrative had strengthened their resilience against disinformation campaigns.

Moreover, students and faculty agreed that today’s youth, being the country’s future leaders, must be empowered with the right information to resist false narratives and divisive agendas. They argued that face-to-face interactions with military leaders inspired patriotism, increased awareness, and encouraged young people to think critically about national security challenges. They also highlighted that strengthening the connection between educational institutions and state institutions was essential for building national unity.

Concluding the event, both students and faculty reaffirmed their full confidence in the Pakistan Army’s role as the protector of the nation. They called for more frequent sessions across universities to educate young people about the dangers of misinformation and the importance of unity in the face of adversity. The visit was described as a landmark engagement that not only built trust but also inspired students to remain committed to the defense of their homeland.
