Hamas, Qatar, Egypt meet to discuss Gaza ceasefire

Published on: September 30, 2025 6:33 PM

Qatar will hold talks Tuesday with Hamas, Egypt, and Turkey to discuss US President Trump’s Gaza peace plan. The talks aim to find a path to end the conflict and bring peace to the region. Qatar’s foreign ministry said Hamas promised to review the plan seriously. These discussions show regional efforts to resolve the Gaza crisis.

The peace plan calls for an immediate ceasefire and release of hostages within 72 hours by Hamas. It also demands Hamas’ disarmament and a gradual Israeli withdrawal from Gaza. After that, a transitional authority will govern Gaza, led by President Trump. Qatar and Egypt gave this plan to Hamas on Monday, with Turkey joining the talks.

Egypt’s and Turkey’s intelligence chiefs traveled to Doha to support the negotiations. Qatar’s spokesperson said it is too soon to know Hamas’ decision. However, he expressed hope that the plan could bring a lasting peace solution. These meetings reflect strong regional cooperation for peace.

Earlier, Qatar received security guarantees from the US and Israel following an Israeli strike on Hamas leaders in Doha. Both countries promised no future attacks on Qatar. This assurance strengthens Qatar’s position as a key mediator in the conflict. The trust helps Qatar push for peace with confidence.
