Gohar denies issuing statement on Gandapur’s removal as KP CM

Published on: October 8, 2025 5:08 PM

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has denied making any statement about removing KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur. His clarification came after several media reports claimed the party had decided to oust Gandapur. Gohar said he had not spoken to any media outlet or commented on the matter at all. “I have not made any statement to the media about Ali Amin Gandapur,” he posted on X.

The denial follows reports that Gandapur was being replaced due to internal tensions in PTI. Rumors suggested a power struggle involving Aleema Khan, sister of PTI founder Imran Khan. Some reports even quoted Gohar as dismissing the CM’s removal as “fake” or a “conspiracy.” However, Gohar firmly rejected these quotes and called them untrue.

This to clarify that I have not made any statement to the media about Ali Amin Gandapur. I have not spoken to any media outlet that “news about change of CM KPK is fake or the it is conspiracy against the party”. This was clarified by ARY news that had aired the alleged news. pic.twitter.com/nZDaDGzXfe

The controversy began when Aleema Khan and Gandapur exchanged serious allegations last week. Gandapur accused Aleema of creating division within the party ranks. Aleema, in return, hinted that Gandapur’s actions were damaging PTI’s internal unity. The dispute has fueled speculation about a major leadership shake-up in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

So far, PTI has not officially confirmed any decision regarding Gandapur’s removal. Party leaders remain tight-lipped, and conflicting reports have created confusion. Gohar’s clarification appears aimed at controlling the narrative and preventing further speculation.
