Pakistan’s top military leadership on Wednesday issued a strong warning to India, promising a “swift and decisive” response to any misadventure or escalation. The remarks came during the 272nd Corps Commanders’ Conference, chaired by Army Chief Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir at GHQ in Rawalpindi.
The army expressed concern over what it called “irresponsible and provocative” statements from Indian leaders. It warned that any efforts to create an “imaginary new normal” would be met with an equally firm “new normal” — swift retribution. The forum stressed that stirring war hysteria for political gain could endanger peace in the region.

The commanders also pledged to continue aggressive counterterrorism operations, particularly against alleged Indian-backed groups. These include what the army termed “Fitna Al-Khawarij” and “Fitna Al-Hindustan.” The military accused these groups of operating under political cover and damaging national security, vowing no leniency in such cases.
In a key strategic move, the army endorsed a new defence agreement with Saudi Arabia. This pact aims to boost joint military cooperation and strengthen regional security. The leadership highlighted the agreement as a symbol of shared vision and mutual respect between both nations, especially in the context of growing regional threats.

Reaffirming long-held foreign policy positions, the commanders voiced support for Kashmir’s right to self-determination and called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. They urged the establishment of a Palestinian state based on pre-1967 borders, with Al Quds as its capital. The COAS closed the session by urging troops to stay fully prepared for all types of threats, while commending their role in recent flood relief and counterterrorism efforts.
