
Lahore and Islamabad have halted all metro and bus services, leaving thousands of commuters stranded. The suspension includes Lahore’s Orange Line train and Metro Bus, along with multiple city bus terminals. Officials confirmed that major transport hubs like City Terminal and Rahbar Terminal in Lahore are closed, disrupting daily travel for residents.
In Islamabad, the Metro Bus and CDA-operated bus services are also suspended, confirmed by the district administration. This has affected office workers, students, and daily travelers who rely on public transportation. The closures come amid ongoing law and order challenges, forcing authorities to take strict measures.

To ease the disruption, all schools and universities in Lahore have been given early holidays. Education officials confirmed the closures aim to protect students amid traffic blockades and road closures. Punjab University postponed its LLB exams scheduled for today, with new dates to be announced later.
Punjab has imposed Section 144 across the province for 10 days, banning gatherings of four or more people in public spaces. The order aims to prevent unrest and maintain safety. However, exemptions apply for prayers, weddings, funerals, offices, and courts, while public gatherings and the use of loudspeakers are banned.
