Russia protests US Tomahawk missiles for Ukraine

Published on: October 13, 2025 5:31 PM

Russia strongly objects to the United States supplying Tomahawk cruise missiles to Ukraine. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov called the move a serious escalation. He said it dramatically raises tensions between the countries. Peskov warned that this supply could destabilize the ongoing conflict. The Tomahawk missile is a long-range weapon used by the US in past wars.

Peskov reminded that the US used Tomahawk missiles in the Gulf War against Iraq. Recently, the missiles were also used against Houthi rebels in Yemen. He criticized the US decision to send such advanced weapons to Ukraine. Russia fears this could give Ukraine a dangerous military advantage. The Kremlin sees this as a direct threat to regional security.

Tomahawk missiles are precise and can travel long distances. The US has different versions of these missiles in its arsenal. However, it is unclear which type will be provided to Ukraine. Experts say the delivery could change Ukraine’s military power significantly. This development may provoke a stronger reaction from Russia.

The US continues to support Ukraine with advanced weapons despite Russia’s warnings. This situation adds to global concerns about the war. Both sides now face growing pressure to avoid further conflict. Russia’s protest signals potential diplomatic and military consequences. Meanwhile, peace efforts become more complicated with each new weapon supplied.
