No change in wardens’ uniform: Punjab CM

Published on: October 23, 2025 12:43 AM

After working on changing the colour and design of the traffic wardens’ uniform, the Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, dismissed the idea of replacing the warden uniform’s older design and colour. The Punjab Chief Minister had also sought suggestions regarding changing the uniform of the wardens four months ago.

Traffic officials informed us that the Phan-coloured uniform was prepared and presented yesterday. After seeing both the new and older uniforms, the Chief Minister rejected the newer colour and design and ordered them to wear the same old coloured uniform. Traffic officials have started working to procure the uniform bearing the old design and colour.

According to reports, around 14,000 new uniforms and accessories are to be purchased for wardens across Punjab, including Lahore. The uniforms will be purchased with funds of Rs 80 million. Traffic officials further informed that the cost of changing the uniforms would be around Rs 140 million.

Following the order of the Punjab Chief Minister, procurement of uniforms will be advertised in the media, and once the pre-qualification tender is completed, the purchase will be made.
