Wheels and watts — UoR journey touches new highs

Published on: October 23, 2025 4:57 PM

MANDI BAHAUDDIN — In a landmark stride towards campus infrastructure enhancement, the University of Rasul (UoR), Mandi Bahauddin, inaugurated three new student buses and commissioned a dedicated 11 kV Rasool University Feeder on Monday. The feeder is designed to support a sanctioned load of 3.2 MW, ensuring reliable electricity across the campus.
These twin initiatives mark a pivotal moment in UoR’s development journey and reflect the visionary leadership of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr Zahoor Ul Haq (Tamgha-e-Imtiaz), whose commitment to student welfare and infrastructure modernization continues to shape the university’s future.
The newly installed power feeder is set to eliminate frequent load-shedding and voltage fluctuations that previously disrupted academic and administrative operations. According to a senior official overseeing the project, the initiative involved laying a 13 km high-voltage transmission line. Approved at a cost of Rs180.2 million, the project was completed at a final expenditure of Rs167.707 million.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Prof. Dr Zahoor Ul Haq expressed satisfaction with the timely completion of the project.
“This dedicated feeder is a transformative step for our campus. Reliable electricity is not just a convenience, it’s a necessity for modern education. Our labs, classrooms, and administrative units can now operate without disruption.”
At the transport fleet expansion ceremony, the vice chancellor inaugurated three new buses aimed at improving student mobility.
“We are committed to providing safe and accessible transport for our students. These buses will ease daily commutes and reflect our broader vision of student-centred development.”
Development projects — both horizontal and vertical — are progressing rapidly across the University of Rasul. During a recent site visit, Prof. Dr Zahoor Ul Haq reviewed ongoing construction and future upgrades to lecture halls, faculty residences, and hostel buildings. He chaired a meeting with senior administrators and engineers to assess work quality and discuss future plans.
Participants included Engr Meraj Ul Islam, Project Director; Muhammad Rauf, XEN Buildings Division, Mandi Bahauddin; Miss Farhat Kausar, Controller of Examinations; Prof. Dr Shaista Irshad Khan, Director Academics; and other key stakeholders.
With a clear focus on student welfare and academic excellence, the University of Rasul continues to invest in top-tier facilities, fostering a vibrant and future-ready learning environment.
