Angela Bassett stuns in iconic Black Panther gown

Published on: October 27, 2025 2:54 PM

Angela Bassett makes surprise entry on Vogue World: Hollywood

LOS ANGELES — Angela Bassett captivated audiences at Vogue World: Hollywood with a breathtaking appearance in her iconic Black Panther gown, radiating elegance and power at the fashion extravaganza held at Paramount Pictures Studios.

The Academy Award-winning actress surprised attendees by stepping onto the runway in the regal purple ensemble originally worn by her character, Queen Ramonda, in the Marvel blockbuster. Designed by Ruth E. Carter, the gown symbolizes both royalty and the Afrofuturist culture of Wakanda — the fictional African nation celebrated in the Black Panther films.

Carter, who made history as the first Black costume designer to win an Oscar for her work on Black Panther, later earned another Academy Award for the sequel, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Fans were delighted to see Bassett channel her on-screen persona once more. Despite her character’s death in the sequel, the star hinted at a possible return in Black Panther 3, scheduled for release in 2028.

Speaking previously on Good Morning America, Bassett expressed enthusiasm about reprising her role, saying, “That would be wonderful. I could be there. You know? It could happen. I would, absolutely.”
