Grenade attack on police patrol injures 13 in Balochistan

Published on: October 29, 2025 9:03 PM

A grenade attack targeted a police patrol vehicle in Dera Murad Jamali, Balochistan, on Tuesday. Police confirmed that 13 people, including two officers, were injured in the blast. The attack took place on the National Highway while police were on routine patrol duty. The attackers escaped soon after the explosion, prompting an immediate security response.

Police and law enforcement teams quickly reached the site. They cordoned off the area and began collecting evidence from the scene. Security across the region was tightened following the incident. Officials said additional checkpoints have been set up to prevent further attacks. Investigators are reviewing surveillance footage to identify the suspects.

According to Dr. Naseer Ahmed Umrani, Medical Superintendent of Civil Hospital Dera Murad Jamali, all 13 injured were shifted to the hospital. Among the wounded were a woman and two children. Doctors said all patients are receiving medical treatment and are in stable condition. Emergency teams were also placed on high alert.

Police officials confirmed that a full-scale investigation is underway. No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack. Authorities believe the incident may be linked to recent acts of violence targeting law enforcement in Balochistan. Investigators are working to trace the attackers through local intelligence networks.
