Queens Park inaugurated under Bilawal’s vision

Published on: October 30, 2025 1:43 AM

Minister for Local Government, Housing, and Town Planning Syed Nasir Hussain Shah said that the Karachi Local Government Corporation (KLC) is taking excellent measures to provide relief to the public, which is part of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s vision for Sindh’s development, progress, and peace.

The inauguration of Queens Park is a continuation of that vision. The Minister congratulated Project Director Ayesha Hameed and her team for their outstanding work. He expressed these views while addressing the inauguration ceremony of Queens Park located in Sultanabad, where he attended as the chief guest. Minister Nasir Hussain Shah further said that, under the directions of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Chief Minister Sindh, all cabinet members and government institutions are working day and night for the development of cities and improvement of infrastructure. Thousands of development schemes have been completed, thousands are ongoing, and dozens of new projects are being launched.

The Sindh Government’s initiatives for road improvement, water supply, cleanliness, drainage, and public welfare are in full swing. He emphasized that providing playgrounds, parks, and other facilities is the government’s responsibility, but their maintenance and functionality depend on the cooperation of the public and relevant institutions. He said that the ownership of development projects can only be ensured through coordination between elected representatives, town and UC chairmen. Consultation and public participation are essential.

Minister Shah added that the People’s Party’s vote bank is not limited, as development schemes worth billions have been introduced even in areas where no such work was previously carried out. “This is the reason why today Karachi has a PPP mayor, and many towns and UCs also have PPP chairmen – a clear sign of the public’s confidence in Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari,” he said. He assured that the issues of Sultanabad and other areas will be addressed on a priority basis. Under the directions of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto and Chief Minister Sindh, government employees’ salaries and pensions in Sindh have been increased more than in any other province.

While speaking to the media, Minister Nasir Hussain Shah said that in all developed countries, the first step toward progress is improving the traffic system. In Karachi as well, strict adherence to traffic laws is essential to protect lives and property. Violations such as wrong-way driving, signal breaking, not wearing helmets or seatbelts, and ignoring zebra crossings cause accidents, traffic jams, and loss of precious lives. He said that traffic fines are meant for public safety, not punishment. Minister Shah further stated that with the cooperation of law enforcement agencies, the Sindh Government has eliminated lawlessness and restored peace. “Today, Karachi records fewer crimes than New York,” he said. The development projects of the PPP government are being recognized globally, with Sindh’s progress being cited as an example at international forums.

He added that under Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s leadership, the highest number of development works have been completed in Sindh. For flood-affected families, the Sindh Government has taken unprecedented measures unmatched by any other province. Under the Chairman’s guidance, 2.1 million houses are being built for flood victims, and millions of families have already received financial assistance. Earlier, Minister Nasir Hussain Shah formally inaugurated Queens Park along with PPP officials and the KLC team.

Separately, Sindh Minister for Local Government, Housing & Town Planning, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah has extended congratulations to Senator Aamir Waliduddin Chishti and Dr. Syed Ali Farhan Rizvi for successfully managing major educational institutions including medical, dental and nursing colleges simultaneously. He said their dedicated and consistent leadership has enabled these institutions to secure a prominent position in Sindh’s education sector. He assured that the Sindh Government will continue to support institutes that contribute to the development of capable and successful students for society.

He expressed these views while addressing the ceremony of Teachers’ Day Reboot 2025 at the Shaheed Khalid Bin Waleed Auditorium of Liaquat College of Medicine & Dentistry (LCMD) on Wednesday. Nasir Shah said the purpose of this event is to honor the most dedicated teachers who are shaping the future of coming generations with their hard work, knowledge and sincerity. This year’s theme, “Because every teacher deserves the light,” highlights that Teachers’ Day is not just a ceremony but a renewed acknowledgment of teachers’ efforts, guidance and sacrifices. He further stated that a teacher’s influence is not limited to classrooms or clinics, but it reflects in students’ character, ethics and professionalism. “Teachers are the foundation of our success,” he added.
