Pakistan, Oman pledge to strengthen ties and ease visa process for workers

Pakistan, Oman discuss bilateral relations, easing of visa conditions
MUSCAT: Federal Minister for Interior and Narcotics Control Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi met with Oman’s Minister of the Royal Office, General Sultan bin Mohammad Al Nu’amani, during his visit to Muscat on Thursday to discuss ways to enhance bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Oman.

According to a statement issued by the Embassy of Pakistan in Oman, the meeting focused on promoting collaboration in key sectors, resolving visa-related issues faced by Pakistani expatriates, and strengthening Pakistan–Oman relations.

Minister Naqvi highlighted the deep-rooted religious, cultural, and historical ties between the two nations, emphasizing that thousands of Pakistanis are contributing to Oman’s development through their hard work. He urged both sides to facilitate visa procedures to allow more skilled Pakistani workers to access job opportunities in the Sultanate.

General Al Nu’amani reaffirmed Oman’s commitment to expanding its partnership with Pakistan and stressed the importance of mutual cooperation in promoting peace, stability, and regional development. Both sides also exchanged views on current regional challenges and agreed to maintain strong engagement.

The visit comes amid growing economic integration in the Gulf region, including the launch of a new cross-border rail service between the UAE and Oman, aimed at boosting trade connectivity and logistics efficiency in the region.
