Qatari PM, FM call on President Zardari

President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari met with Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, came specially to meet the President at the hotel, the President is staying at.

During the meeting, both sides discussed expanding bilateral relations, promoting trade, and enhancing investment opportunities.

President Zardari praised the Qatari leadership for its measures to safeguard national security amid Israeli aggression and lauded Qatar’s efforts in this regard. He also commended Qatar for the successful hosting of the FIFA World Cup 2022 and the exemplary measures taken during the event.

The Qatari Prime Minister acknowledged the bravery of the Pakistani nation and Armed Forces during the recent Pakistan-India conflict and expressed his appreciation for Pakistan’s resilience. He also emphasised the hope that ongoing initiatives in Afghanistan would lead to lasting peace and stability.

President Zardari invited the Qatari leadership to invest in Pakistan, specifically in the stock exchange, to which the Qatari Prime Minister responded that Qatar is already investing in the Pakistan Stock Exchange and intends to increase the volume of its investments.

The meeting was also attended by First Lady Bibi Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Pakistan’s Ambassador to Qatar.
