ISLAMABAD – Gold prices surged sharply on Monday, with 24-karat gold tola rising by Rs7,400 to Rs429,862, up from Rs422,462 recorded the previous day, the All Pakistan Sarafa-Gems and Jewellers Association reported.
The price of 10-gram 24-karat gold increased by Rs6,337 to Rs368,530, while 10-gram 22-karat gold moved up by Rs5,551 to Rs337,573. The rise reflects growing momentum in the international gold market, which saw rates climb by $74 to $4,075 per ounce.
Silver prices also trended higher. The 24-karat silver tola rose by Rs115 to Rs5,209, and 10-gram silver increased by Rs98 to Rs4,465. International silver prices gained $1.15, reaching $49.47 per ounce.
Traders attributed the rise in precious metals to fluctuations in the global market, including investor demand for safe-haven assets amid economic uncertainties and currency movements. The upward trend is expected to continue as international rates remain volatile.
