20 Terrorists killed in KP counter-terror operations, ISPR says

Published on: November 10, 2025 6:28 PM

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) – At least 20 terrorists were killed in two separate intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in KP on October 8 and 9, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said Monday. Security forces successfully targeted terrorist hideouts in North Waziristan and Dara Adam Khel.

In Shawal, North Waziristan, eight terrorists were killed during an operation by the security forces. The ISPR described them as “Indian-sponsored khwarij,” a term mandated by the government for members of banned groups involved in attacks on Pakistan.

In Dara Adam Khel, 12 terrorists were killed after an intense exchange of fire. The ISPR said sanitisation operations are ongoing to eliminate any remaining threats in the area.

The military highlighted that these operations are part of Operation Azm-i-Istehkam, approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan. Security forces and law enforcement agencies continue efforts to remove foreign-backed terrorism from the country.

Pakistan has seen a rise in terror activity over the past year, especially in KP and Balochistan, after Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan ended its ceasefire with the government in November 2022. The ISPR noted that similar operations killed 34 India-backed terrorists in October during multiple engagements across KP.
