BEIJING – China strongly condemned the suicide attack in Islamabad on Wednesday. The Chinese Foreign Ministry expressed deep sympathy for the families of the victims. It also wished a speedy recovery for the injured.

In an official briefing, a ministry spokesperson said China “firmly opposes all forms of terrorism.” The spokesperson emphasized that Beijing will continue supporting Pakistan’s efforts to combat terrorism. China also reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining social stability in the country.

The spokesperson highlighted the long-standing partnership between China and Pakistan. “We stand with Pakistan in the fight against terrorism,” the spokesperson said. The statement stressed that both countries cooperate based on mutual trust and shared security goals.

Speaking on regional dynamics, the spokesperson noted that Pakistan and Afghanistan are China’s close neighbours. Beijing supports strong Pak-Afghan relations and all efforts to maintain regional peace and stability. China will continue playing a constructive role in promoting dialogue between the two nations.
