Sri Lanka stays on for Pakistan tour after security assurances

Published on: November 13, 2025 12:25 PM

RAWALPINDI: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) successfully ensured the continuation of Sri Lanka’s cricket tour after a brief security scare following the recent blast in Islamabad. The remaining two matches of the three-match ODI series have been rescheduled for November 14 and 16 in Rawalpindi.

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi met with the Sri Lankan players for about 90 minutes, addressing their concerns and personally assuring full security arrangements. Following the meeting, the players canceled plans to return home, with all eight who had previously requested to leave agreeing to continue the tour. Naqvi even invited the families of the players to witness the matches in Pakistan.
