
LOS ANGELES: As production begins on the upcoming Jumanji sequel, Dwayne Johnson shared a heartfelt tribute to Robin Williams, honoring the late actor who helped launch the franchise. In a recent Instagram video, Johnson revealed that his character will wear a necklace featuring the iconic dice from the original 1995 Jumanji film, calling it “a way of honouring him and this entire franchise that he started.”

The film’s stars, including Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan, Jack Black, and Johnson, were seen in costume in a promotional photo shared by the production team. Hart expressed his excitement, saying, “Back in action and loving it…I missed you, Jumanji. This one will be our biggest!”

Directed by Jake Kasdan, who helmed the previous films, the untitled third installment is co-written by Jeff Pinkner and Scott Rosenberg and is slated for release on December 11, 2026. Johnson also expressed his enthusiasm for filming in Los Angeles, noting it had been a long time since he last shot a movie in the city.

The ensemble cast features Nick Jonas, Alex Wolff, Morgan Turner, Ser’Darius Blain, Madison Iseman, Lamorne Morris, and Danny DeVito. Johnson highlighted the fun on set, recalling the table read, “Our jaws were hurting from laughing so hard.”
