Ahmed Kamal informed industrialists that Ahmed Mukhtar Shahani has been appointed as the focal person at Kati to ensure prompt resolution of tax-related issues in the zone. He emphasized that the FBR’s mission is to facilitate compliant taxpayers rather than harass them, pledging strict action against officials accused of corruption or misconduct.
The FBR plans to conduct awareness seminars in collaboration with Kati to guide small manufacturers and traders on filing requirements, compliance procedures, and proper documentation. Kamal stressed that cooperation from trade associations is key to bringing non-compliant citizens into the tax net.
He clarified that no new audit drives will be launched, with the focus remaining on completing existing pending audits. Kati President Muhammad Ikram Rajput highlighted challenges with digital invoice submissions, noting that many remain incomplete despite the set deadlines.
