Sharjeel Memon: Our work speaks, Karachi development continues

Published on: November 25, 2025 4:16 PM

Karachi projects worth billions of rupees are ongoing, Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Memon said on Tuesday. He stressed that the government’s work speaks for itself despite criticism from MQM leaders. Memon highlighted the PPP’s commitment to empowering local government institutions across the country.

Responding to MQM leader Haider Abbas Rizvi, he said political interference often harms progress. He noted that MQM creates obstacles even when development projects advance smoothly in Karachi. Memon criticized the party for focusing on criticism rather than contributing to education, health, or water services.

He also mentioned Punjab, where local elections have not yet taken place. He said MQM prefers implementing Lahore’s governance model in Karachi, which he implied is unsuitable for the city’s needs.

Memon emphasized that Karachi, as the heart of Sindh, remains a top priority for the provincial government. He explained that political issues have disrupted harmony and social development, but projects continue successfully.

The senior minister concluded by saying that while PPP focuses on tangible progress, MQM continues to criticize without helping. He reiterated that the ongoing projects show the government’s commitment to Karachi’s growth and public welfare.
