Dr Nabiha says intense public scrutiny marred her honeymoon time

LAHORE — Dr Nabiha Ali Khan has revealed that she experienced severe depression following intense scrutiny and criticism over her wedding. Speaking openly, she described this period as the most challenging of her life, saying she never imagined facing such overwhelming pressure.

The psychologist and media personality admitted that what should have been a time of love and joy instead turned into a nightmare. At one point, she confessed, the criticism became so unbearable that she even considered separating from her husband, Haris Khokhar.

Breaking down in tears while recounting her struggles, Dr Nabiha described the emotional toll of the social media onslaught. She said the relentless judgment transformed what should have been the happiest moments of her life into a source of deep regret. According to her, only she truly understands the pain caused by the widespread criticism.

Dr Nabiha, a psychologist, social media activist, and media personality, recently married her longtime friend Haris Khokhar in a widely publicised Nikkah ceremony officiated by Maulana Tariq Jamil. The event went viral after the couple shared details about the cost of the bride’s jewelry and outfit, which sparked extensive online backlash.

Since the wedding, Dr Nabiha and her husband have given multiple interviews to clarify their perspective. In a recent podcast appearance, she shared her emotional experience and reflected on the pressure that comes with public attention, emphasizing the importance of empathy and respect for personal choices in the social media era.
