PM Shehbaz to visit Bahrain to boost trade and strategic ties

Published on: November 25, 2025 9:23 PM

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will visit Bahrain from November 26 to 27 to enhance bilateral relations. The visit aims to boost trade, investment, and strategic cooperation between Pakistan and Bahrain. The Foreign Office said high-level discussions will identify new avenues for mutually beneficial partnership.

During the visit, PM Shehbaz will meet Bahrain’s leadership to reinforce traditionally warm ties and explore collaboration in energy, technology, education, and culture. The discussions will also focus on people-to-people links and strengthening long-term economic and social cooperation. Officials expect agreements to be signed on trade and joint initiatives.

Earlier this year, Pakistan and Bahrain agreed to enhance cooperation in counter-terrorism, anti-narcotics, and immigration. They also planned a Joint Working Group to improve collaboration on border security, police training, and specialized battalions. Memoranda of Understanding on extradition and mutual legal assistance are also expected.
