DERA MURAD JAMALI: A tragic landmine explosion in the Sanni Shoran area of Bolan on Wednesday claimed the lives of three children and left three others seriously injured. The incident occurred inside a local residence, sending shockwaves through the community and prompting an immediate response from law enforcement agencies.

Police officials said the explosive device had been planted inside the home of Abdul Hayee Jatoi. The children were reportedly playing in the house when the blast took place. According to senior police officer Jan Muhammad Khosa, the explosion was triggered when one of the children stepped on the landmine, resulting in a devastating blast.
“Three children died on the spot,” Khosa told Dawn, adding that the injured included two boys and a young girl. The severely wounded children were rushed to the district hospital by security forces and police, who quickly arrived at the scene. Medical teams are working to stabilise their condition as investigations continue.

The deceased were identified as Nadeem Ahmed, Soma Khan and a teenage girl, Bakhtawar Bibi. Their sudden deaths have plunged their families and the surrounding community into deep grief, highlighting once again the dangers posed by unexploded ordnance and concealed explosive devices in the region.
