Pakistani students triumph in Oxford Pak-India debate

Published on: November 28, 2025 4:43 PM

Pakistan defeated India in a high-profile debate at Oxford Union with a two-thirds majority vote. The Pakistani student panel clearly outperformed India’s second-string team. The debate highlighted Pakistan’s strong argumentation, data-based reasoning, and moral case.

India initially withdrew its main high-profile speakers, including General Narwa, Dr. Subramaniam Swamy, and Sachin Pilot. Instead, India sent lesser-known panelists J. Sai Deepak, Pandit Satish Sharma, and Devarchan Banerjee. Pakistan responded by confidently presenting Oxford-based students Musa Harraj, Israr Khan Kakr, and Ahmed Nawaz Khan.

The debate highlighted that where India dominates in media noise, Pakistani students can decisively outperform in academic and intellectual forums. The top Indian speakers’ refusal to participate placed their side at a disadvantage, which the Pakistani team skillfully exploited.

Pakistan’s students exposed the weaknesses in India’s populist and religiously framed arguments, showing that substance and evidence outweigh personalities. Their victory demonstrates the strength, credibility, and confidence of Pakistan’s narrative in global academic forums.

The results underscore that Pakistan’s case is rooted in reason, law, and facts, proving that intellectual preparation and argumentation matter more than fame or high-profile speakers.
