The app, part of the Digital Sindh programme, is expected to cover 30 districts and 769 health facilities, ensuring digital registration of 85 percent of births at public and private hospitals.
Speaking at the inauguration, CM Shah said the provincial government is committed to digitalising governance processes to improve transparency, efficiency, and public convenience. He emphasised that birth registration immediately after childbirth would soon become mandatory, adding that school planning for every child will be based on this data in the next five years.

The CM noted that all proceedings of the Sindh Cabinet have already been fully digitalised. He said low registration coverage in the past was largely due to the inability of low-income families to pay National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) fees. “To remove this barrier, the provincial government will cover all NADRA fees for birth and death registrations,” he added.

The CRMS mobile app will also provide real-time census data, enhancing evidence-based planning and linking immunisation, disease surveillance, and patient identity records. This integration will support initiatives like the Electronic Immunisation Registry and targeted interventions for diseases such as thalassemia. Health Minister Dr Azra Fazal Pechuho and Chief Secretary Asif Hyder Shah attended the launch.

Addressing questions on political matters, CM Shah dismissed discussions on the creation of new provinces, stating, “No one has the power to divide Sindh except for Allah.” He also clarified that the provincial government had no role in the appointment of the Sindh governor and reiterated that PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari had rejected proposals to alter the 18th Amendment or reduce the NFC Award share.
