
MUMBAI – Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan has opened up about why he will not attempt to recreate any of his father Amitabh Bachchan’s legendary films. Speaking at the IFP Creative Festival, the 49-year-old actor said that while he admires his father deeply, attempting to reinterpret those roles would never make sense to him.

Abhishek described his father, 83-year-old Amitabh Bachchan, as more than just a parent, calling him, “I am his biggest fan.” He added that although actors sometimes try to improve or reimagine a role, he believes there is nobody who can surpass his father’s performances.
The actor also reminisced about his childhood, recalling how he and his friends would watch Amitabh’s films repeatedly and even perform scenes themselves. “Everyone wanted to be Bachchan,” he said, emphasizing that for his generation, the Sholay star represented the ultimate screen icon.

Earlier this year, Abhishek was seen in the comedy Housefull 5, directed by Tarun Mansukhani, alongside Akshay Kumar, Sonam Bajwa, and Jacqueline Fernandez. Despite his own successful career, the actor maintains a deep respect for his father’s cinematic contributions and believes that some legacies are untouchable.
