Three policemen, including ASI, martyred in DI Khan blast

Published on: December 3, 2025 3:06 PM

A powerful explosion near a police vehicle in the Paniala area of Dera Ismail Khan on Wednesday killed three police personnel. Among the martyred was ASI Gul Alam, along with Constables Rafiq and Sakhi Jan. The blast caused severe damage to the vehicle and sparked a swift response from security forces.

Police cordoned off the area immediately, while rescue teams and law enforcement collected evidence at the site. Officials said the attack was linked to militant elements targeting law enforcement in the region. Authorities have launched search operations to track down the assailants.

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi condemned the attack, calling it an act of Fitna-ul-Khawarij against police personnel. He expressed condolences to the families of the martyred officers and praised their bravery in combating terrorism on the frontlines.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi also condemned the blast, describing it as a cowardly act by enemy elements. He vowed that the provincial government would fully support the police and bring the terrorists to justice. Afridi said the sacrifices of the martyrs will always be remembered.

The attack follows a series of recent assaults on police in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Just a day earlier, two police officers were killed in separate attacks in Lakki Marwat and Bannu. Authorities warned that counterterrorism operations will continue with full force to ensure security in the region.
