ATC seeks NADRA verification in Radio Pakistan attack case

Published on: December 16, 2025 7:10 AM

The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC), while hearing an application filed for the identification of individuals involved in the attack on Radio Pakistan Peshawar on May 9, has issued a brief order.

The court approved the application seeking identification of the accused and directed that the verification of the incident’s videos and records should be referred to NADRA.

The court instructed the investigating officer to have all records of the incident and the identification of the accused verified through NADRA and to submit a report by February 10 next year.

On May 9, 2023 enraged protesters had stormed Radio Pakistan Peshawar, damaged the building, set private and public property on fire, and also burned the Chaghi Monument.

The complainant’s lawyer, Shabbir Hussain Gagiani, informed the court that the case against the accused was registered immediately after the incident and that the trial has already commenced.

He said several members of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), including parliamentarians and workers, have been named in the case.

The court accepted the complainant’s lawyer’s request and directed that the videos of the incident should be sent to the Punjab Forensic Science Agency for forensic analysis to verify the evidence. The court adjourned the hearing until February 10.
