Armeena opens up about struggles with multiple health issues

Published on: December 17, 2025 12:48 AM

Pakistani Canadian actress Armeena Khan has shared a deeply personal health update after appearing publicly in a wheelchair.

The video posted on her social media showed her seated while her husband, Fesl Khan, pushed her gently.

In the caption, she explained that a meniscus tear suffered during pregnancy gradually worsened because it was neglected.?She wrote candidly about becoming a new mother while struggling with postpartum depression and overwhelming emotional exhaustion.

During that same period, she also endured the loss of a parent alongside repeated cancer-related health scares.

Khan shared that medical scans later confirmed surgery was necessary, though she initially chose intensive physiotherapy instead.

She described physiotherapy as a slow and painful route that showed early promise before ultimately failing.

Despite the injury, she continued working and even appeared briefly in Meri Tanhai during that physically demanding phase. The actor admitted she gained weight, felt self-conscious, and faced extremely harsh public criticism. To protect her mental well-being, she avoided reading negative comments and focused only on supportive messages. With time, her knee condition deteriorated further, eventually forcing her to confront the reality of surgical intervention. She revealed she is currently waiting for what she called repairs while remaining hopeful and spiritually grounded.

By sharing the video, Khan said she wanted honesty rather than carefully curated images online.

She emphasised that the post was not meant to seek sympathy or portray herself as a victim.

Instead, she said she hoped to show her authentic self while actively fighting health battles daily.

She said: “I’m actively fighting battles and determined to get better.”?The actor also acknowledged how difficult it was to navigate motherhood, grief, career pressure and physical pain simultaneously.
