SACM stresses need to fast-track work on NSIT City

Senior Advisor to CM, Senator Anusha Rehman visited Pakistan’s first and largest IT-focused development project, NSIT City, to review the quality, and strategic direction of work underway at the Punjab flagship technology project. She emphasized the need to fast track the project in accordance with the vision and direction of CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif and to speed up the work using all advanced technologies forwarding the agenda of economic growth and innovation.

CEO CBD Punjab Imran Amin, along with COO Brigadier (R) Mansoor Janjua and other Senior officials were present included Riaz Hussain, Executive Director Technical, Waseem Siddiq, Director Marketing, Ali Waqar Shah, Director Business Development & Investment Relations and Asif Iqbal, Director Management & Planning.

During the briefing, CEO CBD Punjab Imran Amin outlined the project’s scope, planning philosophy and implementation progress. He highlighted NSIT City as a cornerstone initiative designed to position Punjab as a regional hub for information technology, innovation, and high-value investment, while creating opportunities for skilled youth and startups.

Senator Anusha Rehman emphasized the need to deploy advanced technologies for construction and completing the infrastructure and liaise with relevant regulatory authorities to overcome all hurdles in completing 1st phase of the NSIT She reiterated the government’s commitment to strengthening the IT ecosystem linking industry and academia, keeping focus on emerging technologies and development of comprehensive infrastructure prompting the futuristic needs.
