Talal Chaudhry backs creation of new provinces in Pakistan

Published on: December 20, 2025 7:00 PM

Federal Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry has expressed support for creating new provinces in Pakistan. He said new provinces would improve governance and administration. Chaudhry made these remarks while speaking to media in Faisalabad.

Chaudhry highlighted that Punjab’s resources are limited compared to many countries. He emphasized that areas with weak governance should benefit most from new provinces. He said, “New provinces must be created to enhance efficiency and public service delivery.”

He also criticized the current system, pointing out that farmers do not receive fair prices for their crops. Chaudhry added that Punjab is currently the safest province, but other regions lack similar facilities for citizens.

The minister stressed that criticism will continue, but his focus remains on delivering results. He said the government will prioritize administrative reforms and development projects in newly proposed provinces.
