Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz pledges stronger mauritius ties

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif met with Mauritius High Commissioner Mansoo Krombaks on Sunday, reaffirming her commitment to strengthening trade and economic cooperation between the two nations.

During the meeting, Maryam Nawaz warmly welcomed the Mauritian envoy and discussed ways to enhance business-to-business linkages, promote trade delegations, and organise joint exhibitions to boost commercial engagement.

She emphasised the importance of expanding collaboration beyond trade, agreeing to develop partnerships in education, tourism, agriculture, and people-to-people exchanges, aiming for long-term projects with mutual economic benefits.

Both sides agreed to increase cooperation in halal food production, technology, and human resource development, with Maryam Nawaz expressing Punjab’s readiness to support investment opportunities in the globally significant blue economy sector.

The chief minister highlighted Punjab’s determination to boost exports of rice, textiles, and pharmaceutical products to Mauritius, noting that these sectors have strong potential to expand bilateral trade.

Maryam Nawaz also appreciated High Commissioner Krombaks’ initiatives for youth development and his sustained efforts against drug abuse, calling such work essential for regional stability and social growth.
