
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed authorities to ensure that passengers with valid travel documents receive special care while offloading individuals using dubious papers at airports across Pakistan.
During a review meeting on human trafficking and illegal travel, the prime minister emphasised the full utilisation of modern technology to strengthen the country’s immigration system and enhance overall efficiency.

He appreciated the efforts of relevant institutions in curbing human trafficking and lauded Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi for personally visiting airports to monitor the off-loading process and ensure fair treatment of travelers.
The prime minister instructed that the Protectorate of Emigrants improve its performance, while coordination with the Federal Investigation Agency and other authorities must be strengthened to facilitate legal travel for employment abroad.

Officials highlighted that 451 individuals involved in human trafficking and illegal travel had been arrested this year, leading to a 47 percent decline in illegal migration to Europe and reductions in cases involving the UK and Gulf countries.
Shehbaz Sharif also stressed strict action against corrupt elements within the immigration system, underlining that transparency, accountability, and efficiency are crucial to protect legal travelers and deter illegal practices effectively.
