CM Bugti vows to realise Jinnah's vision for Pakistan - Newspaper - DAWN.COM

Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti on Thursday reaffirmed his resolve to translate the Quaid’s vision into reality, asserting that organised conspiracies aimed at destabilising the province would be defeated.

Speaking at a Quaid-i-Azam Day ceremony held at the founder’s residency in Ziarat, CM Bugti said Pakistan was steadily moving towards the ideals laid down by its founder. He remarked that the country’s growing strength, dignity and global standing were increasingly being acknowledged by international leaders.

The chief minister paid tribute to the Pakistan Armed Forces, highlighting what he described as their performance since May this year. He said that from senior commanders to soldiers on the ground, the armed forces had defended Pakistan’s sovereignty, honour and territorial integrity with courage, professionalism and strategic insight.

According to CM Bugti, these efforts had enhanced Pakistan’s image internationally and earned the country greater respect on the global stage. He added that rising diplomatic engagement and expanding international cooperation reflected Pakistan’s recognition as a resilient and responsible state.

Addressing the situation in Balochistan, the chief minister said the provincial government, in coordination with security forces, had developed a comprehensive roadmap for sustainable development, long-term peace and equitable progress. He noted that this plan was being implemented in phases to ensure stability and inclusive growth across the province.

Warning of security challenges, CM Bugti said organised conspiracies were underway to undermine peace in Balochistan. He cautioned against attempts to exploit ethnic divisions among Baloch, Pashtuns, Punjabis and Sindhis, vowing that such plots would be exposed and foiled.

“Pakistan’s foremost identity is that of a Pakistani,” he said, stressing that regional, ethnic or linguistic identities came second and should not be used to divide the nation.

He further stated that when efforts to divide the country along ethnic lines failed, hostile elements shifted focus towards undermining Pakistan’s ideological foundations. He added that slogans and symbols associated with the country’s ideological identity had also been targeted by violent extremist forces.
