According to officials, Rangers and other security agencies are also assisting the police to ensure the safety of VVIPs, VIPs and the general public during the commemorative programme scheduled for Saturday. Several hundred thousand people from across the country are expected to attend the event, where President Asif Ali Zardari, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari and other senior party leaders will pay homage to the slain leader.

Reports from the area said that hundreds of caravans of Pakistan Peoples Party workers and supporters had already reached the vicinity of the venue by buses, trucks, cars and motorcycles, while many others were heading towards Garhi Khuda Bakhsh on foot. CCTV cameras and walkthrough gates have been installed at the venue and along all major routes leading to it.

Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar reviewed the security arrangements during a visit to the Larkana SSP office, where a high-level meeting was held in the presence of the DIG Larkana and other senior officers. The SSP briefed the meeting on the operational plan covering Garhi Khuda Bakhsh, Naudero and surrounding areas.

Officials said that regular, reserve and traffic police, along with the Rapid Response Force and women police personnel, have been deployed, while additional contingents remain on standby. Security at the mausoleum has been organised in four layers, supported by intelligence surveillance, metal detectors and CCTV monitoring. Night-vision cameras have also been installed permanently at the mausoleum and along key access routes, including entry and exit points of nearby riverine areas.

Meanwhile, PPP workers have completed arrangements at the venue, including the installation of a large stage and reception camps at main entry points. Authorities said special arrangements had also been made for accommodation, food, water, medical facilities and parking to facilitate participants.
