
A boat carrying around 200 migrants sank off Gambia’s northern coast near Jang village. The migrants were trying to reach Europe. Authorities reported seven deaths and dozens missing.
The incident occurred late Wednesday night. Local authorities immediately launched a search and rescue operation. So far, 96 migrants have been rescued.
