Pakistan allows Biman Airlines direct Dhaka flights

Published on: January 2, 2026 5:15 PM

Pakistan has approved Bangladesh’s Biman Airlines to operate direct flights between Dhaka and Karachi until March 30, 2026. The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) confirmed the temporary permission. This allows Biman to use approved routes through Pakistan’s airspace.

The three-month approval aims to strengthen bilateral aviation ties and meet growing passenger demand. Officials said Biman Airlines will follow all safety and operational guidelines during this period.

This decision follows Pakistan granting direct flight permission to Britain’s Norse Atlantic. The airline operates from London, Manchester, and Birmingham to Islamabad. Experts say such moves promote international connectivity.

Authorities highlighted that increasing operations by foreign airlines will create competition, improve service quality, and help maintain balanced ticket fares for passengers.

The permission reflects Pakistan’s efforts to enhance regional and global air links. Officials hope more airlines will operate direct flights, boosting travel and trade.
