KP chief minister launches online open court to address public complaints

Published on: January 3, 2026 10:02 AM

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has launched an online open court initiative aimed at ensuring direct and swift resolution of public grievances. The programme, titled Aap ka Wazir-i-Ala Aap Kay Saath, seeks to bridge the gap between citizens and the provincial government.

According to a statement from the chief minister’s secretariat, the first online open court was held for Bajaur district. During the session, the chief minister listened directly to complaints from residents and issued on-the-spot instructions to relevant officials.

Mr Afridi directed that all complaints received through the forum must be resolved within 14 days. He also ordered that a detailed compliance report be submitted after the deadline to ensure accountability.

The chief minister said the initiative follows the model of former prime minister Imran Khan’s Aap ka Wazir-i-Azam Aap Kay Saath. Its purpose, he added, is to promote transparency and provide citizens with a direct channel to raise issues without bureaucratic hurdles.

Addressing education-related complaints, Mr Afridi ordered strict enforcement of the student-teacher ratio policy. He reiterated that the provincial standard of one teacher for every 40 students must be implemented without exception.

He also took notice of complaints about missing facilities and staff absenteeism in schools. The chief minister noted that funds for missing facilities had already been approved by the provincial cabinet and must be utilised promptly.

On teachers’ issues, he directed that problems faced by second-shift staff be resolved on a priority basis. He further stressed full implementation of the minimum wage policy and instructed that teachers’ salaries be deposited into bank accounts on the first day of each month.

Responding to transport-related complaints, the chief minister ordered strict enforcement of passenger limits and fare lists. He warned that licences of violators would be cancelled.

In the health sector, Mr Afridi directed officials to ensure doctors’ presence in hospitals through surprise inspections. He also announced the revival of former Fata games to provide sports opportunities for tribal youth and stressed timely completion of development projects in Bajaur.
