Netflix to release BTS documentary on Stranger Things finale

Published on: January 6, 2026 2:39 PM

Directed by Martina Radwan, the documentary promises an itimate look at the cast, creators, and crew as they bring the story to a close. Netflix describes it as “a sweeping behind-the-scenes chronicle that follows the cast, creators and crew as they bring the final season to life—and say goodbye to the show that changed them forever.”

The series’ creators, Matt and Ross Duffer, shared that the documentary is designed not only for longtime fans but also for those curious about how large-scale television productions are made. “Growing up in Durham, North Carolina, we dreamed of becoming filmmakers—but Hollywood felt impossibly far away. Everything changed when we watched the behind-the-scenes documentaries for The Lord of the Rings — on-the-ground films that showed the real nuts and bolts of how a massive production actually gets made,” they said.

The final season of Stranger Things, which concluded with the December 31 release of its last episode, is now available in full on Netflix. The documentary aims to offer a closer look at the creative decisions, challenges, and emotional moments that went into ending the beloved franchise.

Fans can expect exclusive footage, candid interviews, and never-before-seen moments from the set. The documentary will also highlight how the cast and crew navigated the pressures of concluding one of the most popular shows in modern television history.
