Google has confirmed that Snapseed 3.0, the major update to its popular photo-editing app, will be released on Android later this year, following its iOS debut in June 2025.
The Snapseed team shared the news on Reddit in late December, noting that development for Android began in November 2025 and that the release is still “a few months away.” The announcement brings hope to Android users who have been waiting for the redesigned app.

Snapseed 3.0 features a complete overhaul of the user interface. On iOS, the app introduced a dedicated homepage displaying a grid of edited images, with a circular Floating Action Button (FAB) to access the system image picker. The editor is now organized into three main tabs: Looks, which provides preset filters with customization options; Faves, which allows up to four frequently used tools; and Tools, offering a grid of all editing features.

A new dial-based controller replaces previous slider controls for adjusting values. Tools are grouped into four categories: Adjust & Correct (e.g., Curves, White Balance, Lens Blur), Retouch & Transform (e.g., Healing, Crop, Head Pose), Style (e.g., Film, Vintage, HDR Scape), and Creative (Double Exposure, Frames, Text).
The iOS version also added a Snapseed Camera with retro film filters, allowing users to capture and edit images directly within the app.
