Fatima Sana will lead Pakistan in both the T20I and ODI formats for the team’s upcoming tour of South Africa, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Wednesday. The tour marks the women’s team’s return to South Africa for a bilateral series after five years.

The T20I series will run from February 10 to 16, with matches scheduled in Potchefstroom, Benoni, and Kimberley, all under day-night conditions. Pakistan will then play a 50-over warm-up match in Kimberley ahead of the three-match ODI series from February 22 to March 1 at Bloemfontein, Centurion, and Durban.

The T20I squad includes Fatima Sana, Aliya Riaz, Ayesha Zafar, Gull Feroza, Muneeba Ali, Nashra Sundhu, Natalia Parvaiz, Rameen Shamim, Sadia Iqbal, Sidra Amin, Tasmia Rubab, Eyman Fatima, Saira Jabeen, Humna Bilal, and Tuba Hassan. Uncapped players Humna Bilal and Saira Jabeen have earned their maiden T20I call-ups.
The ODI squad consists of Fatima Sana, Aliya Riaz, Ayesha Zafar, Diana Baig, Gull Feroza, Muneeba Ali, Najiha Alvi, Nashra Sundhu, Natalia Parvaiz, Rameen Shamim, Sadaf Shamas, Sadia Iqbal, Sidra Amin, Syeda Aroob Shah, and Tasmia Rubab. Several players feature exclusively in one format, reflecting strategic squad rotation.
Supporting personnel for the tour include mentor Wahab Riaz, batting coach Imran Farhat, fast bowling coach Umaid Asif, spin bowling coach Abdur Rehman, fielding coach Abdul Majeed, strength and conditioning coach Moeen, performance analyst Waleed Ahmad, team manager Ayesha Ashar, physiotherapist Tehreem Sumbal, and media manager Raza Rashid Kitchlew.

Pakistan women last toured South Africa in January 2021 for a three-match ODI series in Durban and also played the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup there in 2023. The upcoming tour provides an opportunity for the team to build experience on South African pitches and strengthen its squad ahead of future global tournaments.
