The minister said the project would introduce a comprehensive eco-friendly tourism initiative, combining sports, lifestyle, and recreational facilities. “A comprehensive eco-friendly, sports and lifestyle tourism project will be introduced for the island off the Karachi Coast,” he said.

According to Junaid Anwar, the project is expected to attract investment worth billions of rupees. He added that over Rs1 billion would be spent on the development of the island, which will include road connectivity linking it to Karachi’s District East. The improved access aims to boost tourism, generate employment opportunities, and promote the local economy.

Emphasizing environmental protection, the minister assured that the coastal ecosystem would be preserved while implementing the development plan. “The coastal environment will be protected in the development plan,” he said.

The project is part of a broader effort to transform Pakistan’s coastal belt into a major economic engine. Chaudhry described Ziarat Pir Hassan Shah Island as a potential model for the country’s blue economy, highlighting its importance in generating sustainable economic growth while preserving natural resources.

Officials said the initiative would include infrastructure for visitors, eco-friendly sports facilities, and measures to ensure minimal environmental impact. The development is expected to attract both domestic and international tourists, positioning the island as a new destination along Pakistan’s coastline.
