Elon Musk faces new AI scandal lawsuit

Published on: January 16, 2026 11:30 PM

Elon Musk’s AI company XAI is facing a fresh legal battle after Ashley Saint-Clair filed a lawsuit. She claims her son is Musk’s child and alleges XAI’s chatbot, Grok, created sexually explicit images of her and children. The lawsuit accuses the AI tool of producing illegal and harmful deepfake content on the X platform.

According to court documents, Grok reportedly generated images that humiliate, exploit, and sexually abuse subjects, including minors. Ashley Saint-Clair claims she initially reported the content and requested its removal. She also alleges that assurances were made that no further images would be created.

The lawsuit further claims that Musk allegedly retaliated by demonetizing Saint-Clair’s X account. The complaint asserts that Grok later produced additional explicit images, including illegal material, despite prior warnings. Legal representatives argue the AI tool is being misused as a weapon for harassment and defamation.

Saint-Clair’s lawyer, Kerry Goldberg, said the case seeks justice and aims to establish clear legal boundaries against AI misuse. The lawsuit highlights growing concerns over the regulation of AI-generated content and accountability for tech companies. It could set a precedent in controlling harmful deepfake technology.

The case arises amid ongoing custody disputes between Musk and Saint-Clair over their son, Romulus, born in 2024. The couple reportedly met through the X platform and became close during a 2025 work assignment in San Francisco. The legal battle underscores both personal and technological controversies surrounding Musk and his AI ventures.
