He also put on a 167-run opening stand with Waqar Hussain (69, 118b, 10x4s) to put the Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) bowlers under pressure.

No.3 batter Mohammad Taha remained unbeaten for 82 off 166 balls hitting nine fours, while Mohammad Mohsin chipped in with a 47 off 75 balls. KRL picked four of the six wickets after PTV had crossed the 300-run mark as pacer Mohammad Hamza ended with three for 77 and Aqib Liaqat with two for 73.

Mubasir Khan (113 not out, 171b, 12x4s) and Muhammad Awais Zafar’s (71, 148b, 8x4s, 1×6) unbeaten 201-run stand for the fifth wicket took SNGPL to 308 for 4 in 86 overs after they had slipped to 107-4 at the National Bank Stadium. Mir Hamza snared three wickets, while his fellow Test pacer Khurram Shahzad struck once.

Following Abid Ali’s golden duck, Azan Awais (44, 75b, 5x4s), Omair Bin Yousuf (12, 25b, 2x4s) and Abdul Samad (36, 98b, 1×4) got starts but couldn’t convert them to big scores. Mubasir, who struck his fifth first-class ton, and Awais, together faced 52.5 overs to frustrate Ghani Glass bowlers.

At the KCCA Stadium, Water and Power Development Authority’s (WAPDA) pacer Naqeebullah picked up his second first-class five-wicket haul (18-5-36-5) to dismiss Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) for 159 in 57.1 overs.

For OGDCL, only Danish Aziz (69, 106b, 7x4s, 1×6) resisted with a half-century after walking in at 29-4. He was supported by no.5 batter Abbas Ali with a 73-ball 31 as no other OGDCL batter crossed the 13-run mark. WAPDA’s left-arm spinner Khalid Usman and Mohammad Asghar backed up Naqeebullah’s five-for with two wickets each. In turn, WAPDA were 56-2 in 24 overs, trailing by another 103 runs, with Mohammad Ammar unbeaten on 24 off 49 balls with the help of two fours.

Sahir Associates finished the day with 229-7 in 83 overs against State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) at the State Bank Sports Complex after half-centuries from no.7 Mohammad Mohsin Khan (62, 99b, 7x4s) and Mohammad Saleem (59 not out, 161b, 3x4s, 2x6s) lifted them from 54-4.
