Published on: January 26, 2026 1:55 AM

Sindh Provincial Minister for Local Government Nasir Hussain Shah has said that the PropTech Convention has emerged as an effective and credible platform bringing together policy-making, modern technology and investment in the real estate sector, playing a vital role in the development of a modern and sustainable real estate ecosystem in Pakistan, particularly in Sindh.

Addressing the 6th PropTech Convention held at Expo Centre Karachi, the minister said that the Sindh government is implementing a zero-tolerance policy against illegal constructions and indiscriminate action is being taken against violators of rules and regulations to ensure the protection of citizens’ lives and property. He stated that the taxation system, documentation process and compliance mechanisms in the real estate sector are being restructured on modern lines, which will enhance transparency and further, strengthen investors’ confidence.

Nasir Hussain Shah said that quality, trust and long-term value are being made the core principles of residential and commercial projects, as sustainable urban development remains the top priority of the Sindh government. He emphasized that strong collaboration among the government, builders, developers and the real estate sector is indispensable for integrated urban planning in a mega city like Karachi. The provincial minister further said that alongside regulatory reforms, the Sindh government is taking practical steps to promote technology-driven real estate systems, digital records, transparent monitoring and online approval mechanisms.

He added that forums like the PropTech Convention are not only creating new investment opportunities but are also playing a significant role in generating employment and attracting international investors, which is a positive development for the national economy.
